‘Big Miracle’ can’t compare with last year’s similarly themed ocean-animals-are-our-friends ‘Dolphin Tale,’ but this flick will work well for nature-loving families.

Let me say this first: The whales in “Big Miracle” do not look real, and they aren’t, and all the animatronics, hydraulics, and CGI technological wizardry used can’t capture your heart like a real animal would.
