Kernel Rating (out of 5):
MPAA Rating: PG Length: 86 minutes
Age Appropriate for: 6+. The PG rating is for “brief mild language,” but I didn’t notice any. There is a kiss between two teenage characters.
No film can really capture the magic of Dr. Seuss’s books, but “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” gets somewhat close—despite an uneven amount of character development and song-and-dance numbers.

There is no experience that will ever compare with reading a Dr. Seuss book for the first time. There’s a magic to his work, from those green eggs and ham to the Grinch and Yertle the Turtle, that’s impossible to recreate. No one will ever truly live up the author’s legacy, but “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” is funny and cute and does its best.
