Appropriate for children 13+. Mild, sometimes cleverly disguised swear words. Tough enough for adults, a few unsettling images related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks may be disturbing to children. Also, the movie’s complexity, both emotional and narrative, might not be able to hold a younger audience’s full attention.
Put simply, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close has got your number. Give it the benefit of the doubt and 2 hours and 9 minutes of your time and you’re likely to come out with swollen eyes and an uplifted soul.
