Age Appropriate For: 13+. A fair amount of cursing (mostly the s-word), a middle finger, a woman kidnapped and beaten, and many, many, many car crashes, only a few of which involve any bodies that are bloodied or injured in any way. It’s typically unbelievable and misleading, treating extremely dangerous driving as not dangerous at all.
We’ve reached the end of summer, when all the good movies have already come out, and ‘Getaway’ is a perfect end-of-summer movie. In that it’s terrible.

It’s very difficult for me to talk about “Getaway,” because there isn’t much to talk about. Most of the movie takes place in a car. The villain is—mostly—just a voice on the other end of a phone. And oh, is the “plot” stupid. So, so stupid.
