Family Movie Review: Gone (PG-13)

Gone ChesapeakeFamilyMovieReviewKernel Rating (out of 5): whole-popcorn-kernal

MPAA Rating: PG-13       Length: 94 minutes

Age appropriate for: 15+. Cursing, drug references, implied sexual situations (but no real nudity), and the violence and terror associated with being kidnapped. Not a thriller for super-young teens.

‘”Gone” gives Amanda Seyfried a gun and has her chase around bad guys. The result, unsurprisingly, is neither thrilling nor empowering.

By Roxana Hadadi

Amanda Seyfried did not have a good 2011, with the overwhelmingly terrible “Red Riding Hood” and similarly disappointing “In Time.” With “Gone”—which wasn’t screened for critics before its release—Seyfried isn’t starting her 2012 off on any better.
