MPAA Rating: PG Length: 97 minutes
Age Appropriate for: 8+. Whether you let your children listen to Katy Perry’s music or not will determine if you can let them see this movie. Though Perry has a frothy, cute image, ultimately her music is often about love and sex, so those thematic elements are somewhat present. Also included are her provocative outfits and stage presence, discussion regarding her divorce, some smoking and language.
‘Katy Perry: Part of Me’ will not tell you anything you didn’t already know about the singer. As a performer, Perry has worked hard to convince us that she’s cute, lively, and fun—and this documentary is very carefully engineered to make sure you leave the theater thinking just that.

These concert documentaries aren’t going to stop anytime soon, are they? In the past two years we’ve had “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie” and “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” and now, from the same people who brought you the latter, we have “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” 97 minutes of the pop singer prancing around onstage, being praised by her family and friends, and sobbing about her divorce from British actor and comedian Russell Brand.
