Family Movie Review: Paranoia (PG-13)

Paranoia ChesapeakeFamilyMovieReviewKernel Rating (out of 5): half-popcorn-kernal

MPAA Rating: PG-13       Length: 106 minutes

Age Appropriate For: 13+. Some beatings, pictures of corpses, and threats of violence; some cursing; some smoking and drinking; and a good amount of sexual content: implied sex scenes, some kissing, and sexually themed language.

Neither thrilling nor imaginative, ‘Paranoia’ tries to make a star out of teen heartthrob Liam Hemsworth but really just shows how low Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman are willing to go for a dollar.

By Roxana Hadadi

Perhaps you remember Liam Hemsworth for the 10 or so minutes he was in “The Hunger Games” as rebellious Gale, or maybe you know that he’s Miley Cyrus’s on-off fiancé, or you see the resemblance in his face to his older brother Chris, star of “Thor” and “The Avengers.” No matter what, you’re not going to remember him as an actor, especially not after “Paranoia.” It’s a film that lacks suspense and intrigue, and it’s not going to do Hemsworth’s career any favors.
