Age Appropriate for: 13+. Cursing, including the s-word and f-word. But the content would be interesting to any environmentally minded teenager, and the coarse language isn’t pervasive or overwhelming.
‘Promised Land’ wants to be an ‘important’ movie, so it’s very heavy-handed in its depiction of the evils of fracking and light in everything else. More character development and a greater sense of the stakes would have done this movie some good.

“Promised Land” makes me think of the 2005 film “Syriana,” but not because the former is as good as the latter. Not even close.
