Family Movie Review: Taken 3 (PG-13)

Taken3 ChesapeakeFamilyMovieReviewKernel Rating (out of 5): 0

MPAA Rating: PG-13       Length: 109 minutes

Age Appropriate For: 13+. Typical action-movie stuff, and fairly in line with the two previous films in this series. The protagonist fights, shoots, and stabs his way through countless opponents, there are car chases and car crashes, a torture scene involving waterboarding with gasoline, Russian mobsters do evil Russian mobster things, there’s the discussion of marital infidelity and some kissing, some cursing, and premarital pregnancy.

‘Taken 3’ exists for some reason, and is about as repetitive and uncreative as you’d expect. Can this franchise please end already?

If “Taken” was an unexpected success, and “Taken 2” was a shameless cash grab, what does that make “Taken 3”? An unexpectedly shameless cash grab? Let’s go with that.
