Family Movie Review: The Cold Light of Day (PG-13)

TheColdLightofDay ChesapeakeFamilyMovieReviewKernel Rating (out of 5): half-popcorn-kernal

MPAA Rating: PG-13       Length: 93 minutes

Age Appropriate for: 13+. Cursing and violence, mainly, including guns, hand-to-hand violence, and general spy intrigue. Also some sporadic jokes about sex, but nothing disgusting or obscene.

Henry Cavill will play Superman in the upcoming reboot of that classic hero franchise, but he has a long way to go, if his starring role in The Cold Light of Day is any indication. Delayed a release in the U.S. for months, the film would have been better off forgotten.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Henry Cavill, the man who will be Superman next year in “Man of Steel,” director Zack Snyder’s reboot of the iconic film franchise, totally wiped “The Cold Light of Day” off his resume. The film is just that bad, and he’s that bad in it.
