Stop-motion clay animation shows off its greatness with ‘The Pirates! Band of Misfits,’ the latest from the studio that gave us Wallace and Gromit. Engrossing, hilarious, and wonderfully energetic, ‘Band of Misfits’ does swashbuckling right.

Take note, Johnny Depp: “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” is a successful pirate movie. Who needs the Caribbean, the Black Pearl, or even Jack Sparrow when an animated children’s flick is just so much better?
