Starring Spots to watch the Super Bowl

Watching football at a sports barLooking for a fun sports bar to watch the game? Here are three to consider that welcome the cheers — for drinks and winning football plays.

Acme Bar and Grill
163 Main St., Annapolis
If you are with a group, try the beer tube, which is 10 beers in a giant tube and includes half-price appetizers. Or choose from 13 beers on tap. Wing lovers can try 19 different flavors. Besides chicken wings, most fans munch on the steak and cheese egg rolls on game days.

Adam’s Taphouse and Grille
Formerly Adam’s Ribs
921 Chesapeake Ave., Annapolis
Formerly Adam’s Ribs, Adam’s Taphouse and Grille is in the same location — still serving up ribs, but with lots more on the menu to make it an enjoyable spot to catch the big football game. Beer drinkers can choose from 12 beers on draft and about that many more in bottles or cans. There’s even a gluten-free option, New Belgian Glutiny, along with signature cocktails, drinks specials and wine. Looking for something healthy? Snack on veggies and dip along with a Portobello sandwich with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers.

Mother’s Peninsula Grille, Arnold
969 Ritchie Hwy., Arnold
With 26 TVs, 100 different beers, and approximately 20 burger and wing choices, it’s no surprise Mother’s is a popular football-watching spot. Super bowl fans can enjoy unlimited Miller Lite and boneless wings for $25 during the game. The Heart Attack burger may appeal to fried-food aficionados, but healthier diners will appreciate that a chicken or turkey patty may be substituted for any of the meat burgers for just $1. Several gluten-free items are identified on a separate menu.
