But if you need to call them then you need to not cook a turkey. Buy a cooked turkey. Cater your dinner or call your favorite uncle over to fry one up for you—outside of course.

ThinkstockPhotos 122494763I have no excuses for getting out of cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. Last year I got out of it. This year it’s not likely. I went to visit my daughter. My daughter Grace won’t be here. Her sister Paige may come. I expect to see my brother and some in-laws.

She told me that she asked the women in her “mommy group” how often they spend money on themselves. She told me many of them said they didn’t treat themselves at all. A few said they got a pedicure once a month. But most of their money and time is spent on their kids.
