First Lego League Robotics Showcase in Annapolis

Experience the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County all in one great showcase on Tuesday, February 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cheer on Club teams from Bates, Bywater, Admiral Oaks, Meade Village and Freetown Village as they display their robot programming skills and team pride.   The Showcase is at our flagship Club located at 121 South Villa Avenue, Annapolis (behind the Senior Center).

This is the second year all five Boys & Girls Clubs have competed in FLL tournaments. Last year Bywater earned a spot in the State Championship, and this year the Admiral Oaks Club will be competing in the State Championship at UMBC on February 26th. Other achievements include:

·         Bywater Club attended the regional competition at South River High School on December 4th and received the 3rd place Presentation Award as well as the Judges Award.

·         Admiral Oaks attended the regional competition at John Hopkins on January 8th and received the 1st Place Robot Performance award and the team is moving on to the UMBC State Tournament on Feb. 26.

·         Bates competed at regional competition at UMBC on Jan. 29.

·         Freetown Village and Meade Village also had great showings at regional tournaments.
