Is your family looking for adventure this summer? You don’t have to travel far from the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area to find extreme fun for the whole family. How about climbing inside a giant inflatable ball and rolling down a mountainside, or careening down a churning river on a raft?
Roundtop Resort in Lewisburg, Pa., is one of only three locations in the U.S. to offer OGO Ball, which looks like a human-sized hamster ball with 5 gallons of water inside.
“It’s a bit like a waterslide, but a whole lot more exciting, ” says Lutricia Eberly, director of sales for Roundtop Mountain Resort. “It’s incredibly fun and definitely unique.”
If your family is up for an adventure, there are plenty of great ideas close by or within just a few hours drive. Other than OGO Ball and whitewater rafting, consider rock climbing or even wind surfing. Pick one or schedule all four for a summer the kids won’t soon forget.
BODY SURF A MOUNTAIN
OGO Ball is a unique experience in which up to three riders can climb inside a giant inflatable ball filled with 5 gallons of fresh water and body surf as it careens down the snow tubing trails. Riders get soaked as the ball banks up the sides of the trail, but it never goes upside down. The activity is recommended for children 6 and older. The resort also has a treehouse zip line, cedar maze and bumper boats. Before you go, take a chairlift up to an observation deck for a spectacular view.
