Four fun ways to spend the day on the water
On a sweltering summer day, Erin Brewer knows just where to take her family to cool off — the Gunpowder River, where you can rent tubes and float downstream at a leisurely pace.
“It’s pretty easy to do with kids,” says Brewer, a mother of three from Baltimore. “The water feels great, and you don’t have to think a whole lot while you’re tubing. You just sit back and enjoy the ride.”
Tubing is just one way to spend the day on the water in Maryland. When you have streams, rivers, lakes and the Chesapeake Bay at your disposal, the opportunities are endless. Over the next few weeks we will feature four ways to spend the day on the water with the family — fishing, tubing, paddling and sailing.
