FranklyStein: Things I find on the floor on a daily basis

The floor in our house is an ever changing obstacle course.

From Legos to step on to a pile of clothes to trip over, there’s always something laying around that shouldn’t be. My children seem to have the mindset, however, that wherever they leave something is where it belongs.

I’m sure you are familiar with the problem.

Here’s just a small sampling.

P2150074  The boys room is littered with Legos, Nerf guns and dirty laundry. Ever step on a Lego with bare feet? Sometimes I threaten not to kiss them goodnight if I can’t get to their beds. As you can see from the photo, it’s not effective.
P2150080 The remains of a Nerf gun battle from two days ago are still scattered in the upstairs hall. Nerf buttlets are in every nook and cranny of my house. I’ve even found them in the washing machine after a load of laundry.
P2150082 This is Adam’s Buddy Bear. Adam is 11 but he still sleeps with Buddy every night. The bear, however, gets left in the most unusual places when Adam is at school — like face down on the floor at the bottom of the steps.
P2150084 Clothes get stripped off and left where ever they fall — despite the fact that there is a laundry basket in each of the kids’ bedrooms. I even bought a laundry basket shaped like a basketball hoop for the boys but no dice. More fun to leave it for Mom to pick up.

Book bags are deposited in front of doorways and kitchen cabinets—sprawled open with books tumbling out. That’s a Bible with the leaf open just waiting for someone to stub a toe on.

What do you routinely find on your floor?
