Spend the day in a recreated Indian Village learning about Indian culture at American Indian Heritage Day at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum Saturday, Nov. 2.
Get a glimpse of life along the Chesapeake Bay as it was over 500 years ago. Experience traditional and modern interpretations of the cultural heritage of the American Indians. Explore their culture and history through hands-on activities, demonstrations, exhibits and performances.
There will be music, food, fire-making, pottery, hide-tanning, and basketry. Interpretive flute performances and Native story telling will be available throughout the day. On display will be exhibits of Native American artifacts and the recreated Indian Village will be open with interpretations. Children can partake in educational activities, spear throwing, and games.
The free event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum in St. Leonard.
