Ring in 2018 with something for everyone in the family at the New Year’s Eve celebrations planned in Annapolis.
Kids can usher in the new year a bit earlier in the day with special activities for children from 3-6 p.m. Face painting, an obstacle course, a moon bounce, live music and more are on the agenda along with fireworks at 5:30 p.m. Kids activities will be held at the ball fields behind Bates Middle School and Maryland Hall.
Activities and music for the older set will take place at City Dock, running from 8 p.m.-midnight, again ending with fireworks at Susan Campbell Park.
Parking will be free in Park Place Garage from 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31 until Monday, Jan. 1 at 2 a.m. Standard rates will apply at the other three City garages. Two free Circulator shuttles will run from 2 p.m. Sunday until 2 a.m. on Monday. From 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the Circulator Shuttle will provide a continuous route between Park Place and Maryland Hall (Chase Street) to offer transportation for the children’s event.
The other Circulator Shuttle will make a continuous loop from Park Place to Church Circle, dropping off and picking up passengers at the top of Main Street. After 6:30 p.m. both Circulator Shuttles will be dedicated to the Park Place-Church Circle loop. Visit annapolisparking.com for more tips on how to get around town.
