Summer Fun—Day 18: Cool off at Cascade Lake

Head out to Carroll County's Cascade Lake to spend some time on the water and beat the heat.

bigslide The 6-acre lake is nestled among 70 acres of rolling hills and wooded areas. The Lake is spring fed with a gently sloping sandy bottom and a large roped off area for swimming. There are variously sized waterslides and high and low platforms for jumping.

There is also a Spray 'N Playground on site for little ones to run around and cool off in. With no standing water, this area is perfect for non-swimmers.

The lake is also stocked with fish so your kids can try their hands at fishing. A trail around the lake provides quiet spots to enjoy the peace away from the beach and waterslides.

Scattered throughout the property are picnic tables and charcoal grills. Other amenities include paddleboats, hot food at the Cascade Cafe, a gift shop and a bathhouse.

Admission on weekdays before 2 p.m. is $10 for adults and children over 7 and $8 for children 1 to 7. Weekdays after 2 p.m. admission is $8 for all. Weekends and holidays admission is $15 for adults and children over 7 and $12 for children 1 to 7. Infants are free. Paddleboat rental is $7 for a half hour on weekends and $5 for a half hour on weekdays.

Cascade Lake is located at 2844 Snydersburg Road in Hampstead. For more details, visit Cascade Lake's website.
