Summer Fun—Day 31:Discover nature at Irvine Nature Center

Enjoy the forests, meadows, wetlands and a nature play space at Irvine Nature Center located just northwest of Baltimore.

irvineIrvine's nature play space is an area where kids can crawl through hollowed-out logs, play in a canoe in the dry creek bed and climb uprooted trees.

The nature center, which aims to teach children and adults about the importance of environmental literacy, has a variety of activities to entertain families. The center’s outdoor classroom has a building station with blocks, a music area with wooden instruments and a storytelling circle.

Be sure to take the kids to say hello to the animal residents of Irvine, including turtles, snakes and opossums, and visit the exhibit hall for interactive learning about wildlife in woodlands, wetlands and meadows.

The Irvine Nature Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
