Thursday, January 24

Jan. 24–27. Jack Everly leads Broadway stars and the BSO in some of the greatest Rodgers and Hammerstein hits, including memorable songs from The King and I, South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma! and more. Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26 performances are eligible for the BSO Young and Free program. $35–$100. 8 p.m. Strathmore and Meyerhoff theatres (check dates for each), Baltimore.

Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras Chamber Concert
The BSYO comprises three orchestral ensembles of over 250 of the region’s most talented young musicians. $10; $5 for students. 7 p.m. Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Baltimore.

Baltimore Boat Show
Jan. 24–27. Boating skills and safety education for ages 8–12, toy boatbuilding for kids, food, seminars and more. $14; ages 15 and under, free. Check website for times. Baltimore Convention Center. 

Friday, January 25

Mini Monet

Dance and Play
Dance and Play Days are seasonal celebrations that include dancing, crafts, story time and tumbling. The class fee is $5.00 and they occur at regular intervals throughout the year. Students must be between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5. Severna Park Community Center.

The Three Little Pigs: A Children's Opera
This exciting adaptation of a classic fairy tale is the perfect way to share the magic of live opera with the children in your life! $18–$20. 11 a.m. Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis.

MSP Polar Bear Plunge
Join more than 10,000 people diving into the icy Chesapeake Bay to benefit Special Olympics Maryland. Must raise at least $75 to plunge. Sat. 8 a.m.–2 p.m. Sandy Point State Park, Annapolis.

Lil’ Stars: Super Duper Stars
Give your child (ages 3–8) a special nighttime experience during the day by letting them discover outer space through interactive activities! January's theme is "Super Duper Stars." Feeding Frenzy: Behind the Scenes
What do the animals at Irvine eat? How are their diets prepared? Join a naturalist for a behind the scenes tour and feeding of the animals that call Irvine home. $2 for members, $5 non-members. 10–11 a.m. Irvine Nature Center, Owings Mills.

Music for Young Audiences: Banda Magda
26–27. This award-winning band combines South American rhythms with jazz improvisation, sung in six languages for a globetrotting adventure. Age 7+. $20. Gaelic Storm

Free Family Sunday
