Holiday Fun Day 19—Celebrate Hanukkah

The celebration of Hanukkah starts tomorrow, Dec. 12, at sundown, and there are many great activities for children and families planned in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., metro area from festivals to Menorah lightings.

Baltimore's Chanukah Festival will be held Dec. 12 at McKeldin Square near the Inner Harbor. Take part in activities for all ages starting at 3:30 p.m. and hang out for the Menorah lighting at 5 p.m.

The Annapolis Parade and Menorah Lighting will also be held Dec. 17. Meet at the Safeway on Housley Rd. at 5:15 p.m.; parade departs Safeway at 5:30 p.m. and heads to City Dock for a Giant Menorah lighting at 5:45 p.m., where there will be fresh donuts, latkes and gelt.

Head to the Jewish Community Center in either Owings Mills or Park Heights Dec. 24 and 25 for Community Mitzvah Day. Participate in any number of hands-on volunteer projects available for every age, interest and ability. For details visit jvcbaltimore.org.
