Holiday Fun Day 15—Christmas in St. Michaels

Head to the charming town of St. Michaels to enjoy the holiday season with the arrival of Santa, the town parade, gingerbread house making and contest, a holiday marketplace and plenty of fun activities for the entire family.

St. Michaels kicks off its holiday extravaganza with its annual Yuletide charity gala on Friday night, Dec. 7, at the Miles River Yacht Club. On Saturday, the fun continues for the whole family with a Breakfast with Santa event at the Lighthouse Oyster Bar & Grill. Then at 10:30, catch the Talbot Street Parade—a traditional parade with marching bands, antique cars and boats, fire engines, horses, kazoo bands and llamas! And Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on an antique sleigh, as well. As you follow the parade out of town, you'll find yourself at St. Michaels School, where Santa will sit with boys and girls to talk Christmas wishes, and there will be a Christmas store for children to buy gifts for their family members, plus games, prizes, and other Christmas treats.

According to the event organizers, "For more than a quarter century, visitors and residents have celebrated the arrival of the Christmas season during this weekend. Proceeds from ticketed events and the sales of our very popular Collectors Ornaments have raised more than one million dollars to directly benefit local, non-profit organizations in our community."
