Bike through Baltimore and visit Maryland breweries

bikes beer philly webBike through Baltimore and enjoy special beers from two renowned Baltimore breweries, then celebrate with a party at the end during Bikes and Beers Baltimore June 20, 2015.

The 15-mile ride starts at Union Craft and heads through downtown to Heavy Seas Alehouse, where riders can sample two different beers, both brewed in collaboration with the Bikes and Beers team and Heavy Seas for this event.

The 2015 route goes past or through many of Baltimore's famous sites including Penn Station, Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Little Italy, Shot Tower, Museum of Art and the Maryland Zoo.

Riders end up back at Union Craft brewery, where they will receive their official event pint glass and a free fill of their choice. There will also be live music, local food trucks and outside games after the ride. Find the cycling route on Ride with GPA here.

Registered riders also are entered for a chance to win prizes including new bikes, restaurant gift certificates and cycling gear.

Riders of all skills levels can participate. A portion of proceeds from the event will go to Bikemore and Bike MD to help improve the cycling conditions in the city of Baltimore.

Event details and schedule

bikes beers logo 250Ride start times are 9:30, 10, 10:30 and 11 a.m. Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time. Registration is $45 for all start times for ages 21 and older and $30 for under 21. Team registration is $40 each. Register here. 

Riders 14 and older can register for the event if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Riders 13 and under can participate, but they must ride with a parent or guardian via tandem bike, trailer, etc. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for everyone under 21.

The ride route is on Ride with GPS, which will provide voice navigation via smartphone with a downloadable app. and riders will get a detailed map the day of the ride.

All participants will need a valid drivers license and a helmet. Feel free to dress in whatever shows your Baltimore pride or whatever outfit makes you happy!
