Enjoy musical comedies and Shakespeare at Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre

Catch Me if You CanThe Annapolis Summer Garden Theater presents the second show of its 2015 season, "Catch Me if You Can," July 2-25. The musical comedy about chasing your dreams — without getting caught — is based on the 2002 film and true story that inspired it.

Also in July, for three nights only, the Maryland Shakespeare Company (MSC) will perform William Shakespeare's classic "Romeo and Juliet" at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre stage under the stars. Performances are at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday July 6-8.

Eight performers tackle 20 roles in this fast-paced play of love and loss, complete with live music, fight choreography and colorful costumes.

The 2015 Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre season closes with "The Addams Family," a macabre tale featuring an original story that is every father's nightmare: Wednesday Addams has grown up and falls in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. "The Addams Family" runs Aug. 6-Sept. 6, 2015.

Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre buildingASGT shows are usually Thursdays through Sundays, with select Wednesday performances, at 8:30 p.m. (no performance July 4). Single tickets are $22 and may be purchased at the box office or online. Children younger than 5 years are not allowed in the theater.

ASGT is an all-volunteer outdoor community theater presenting its 50th season of "theatre under the stars" in downtown Annapolis.
