Kegs and Corks Festival features craft beer and Maryland wine

kegs and corks festival stageThe annual Kegs and Corks Craft Beer and Maryland Wine Festival will showcase some the best in Maryland beer, wine and food at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, noon to 6 p.m.

Guests can sample more than 60 wines from 14 Maryland wineries and 40 beers from 15 craft breweries across the U.S. New wineries this year include Dragonfly Farms, Layton's Chance and Great Shoals. New breweries are Union Craft, Oliver, Elysian, Breckenridge, Bold Rock, Eastern Shore and Crispin.

Also new this year is a special pairing booth where guests can sample foods such as bacon, chocolate and oysters while learning the perfect beverage to accompany these treats. Learn to cook with craft beer from BAROAK chef Teddy Folkman.

Tickets include a souvenir glass, samples of featured beer and wine, and entertainment. This year's festival again benefits the educational, environmental and outreach programs of the Chesapeake Bay Trust.

Fresh oysters and local crab cakes are just a couple of options available from the food vendors. Full glasses of beer and wine also are available to purchase.

This year's entertainment schedule is:
Noon-1:30 p.m. – Tropical Soul
2-3:30 p.m. – The Chris Sacks Band
4-6 p.m. – The Reagan Years

Kegs and Corks FestivalAdvance tickets are $35 in advance, available online. Tickets purchased at the gate are $40. Tickets for military members and their spouse are $30 in advance online, with a limit of two. Ticket holders must show valid military ID at the gate.

Tickets for designated drivers and ages 13-20 are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free (although please note this is primarily an adult event).

Volunteer opportunities are available with perks of a free T-shirt and entrance to the event.

Attendees may take blankets and chairs to enjoy the music. Coolers and pets are not allowed.

The Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds are located at 1450 General's Hwy., Crownsville.
