Celebrate Hanukkah in Maryland and DC

It's time for latkes, dreidels and gathering with friends and family—it's time for Hanukkah!

This year's Festival of Lights starts at sundown Dec. 3, but Hanukkah events and celebrations start earlier. Check out these ways to celebrate the Festival of Lights, from Baltimore to Washington, D.C.

Baltimore Chanukah Festival 2018

Dec. 2. This celebration of light will take place in Baltimore Inner Harbor’s McKeldin Square, and includes live music, jelly doughnuts, hot drinks, family activities & entertainment for all!. Chanukah Hot Chocolate 5K 2018
Dec. 2. 5k flat, wheeled course through Owings Mills. Family friendly event including Chanukah Hot Chocolate themed SWAG and after party. Prizes to Top 3 finishers, age category winners, and best themed outfit. $18-40. 9 a.m. Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC,

Chanukah Wonderland 2018
Dec. 2. Feel the joy and spirit of the holiday with the entire Jewish community! Fun activities for all ages including hot latkes, doughnuts, menorah lighting, special crafts for kids, and a Chanukah concert by Virtuoso Violinist Boris Savchuk. 5 p.m. Westfield Annapolis Mall, Annapolis.

National Menorah Lighting 2018

Dec. 2. Music by the U.S. Army Band and Dreidelman and the Macabees, plus latkes and donuts, free menorah and dreidel kits, games and more. Free, ticket required. 2 p.m; gates open at 3 p.m. The White House, Washington D.C.

Chanukah Festival 2018

Dec. 4. Giant menorah lighting, free light stick for every child, latkes, donuts, a raffle, and music. Free. 6:30 p.m. the Lyceum, Alexandria. 703-820-2770.

Chanukah Brew Ha Ha 2018
December 4. 7–10 p.m. For the sixth consecutive year we’ll be throwing the biggest Chanukah party in town at Union Craft Brewing’s brand new location in the new Union Collective. Throw on your favorite ugly sweater and join us for the best beer in Baltimore, Chanukah treats, 3D printed mezzuzahs and so many fun ways to tap into the spirit and themes of Chanukah.$18 in Advance/$23 at the Door.

Hanukkah Happy Hour 2018
Dec. 5  The largest Hanukkah happy hour in the D.C. area lets you hop back in timeat Decades hanging with our fellow 80s and 90s kids; find the floor of your decade of birth and join hundreds of Jewish young adults for drink and food specials and some special surprises. Be sure to bring warm winter items such as socks and gloves for the clothing drive. DC Jewish Community Center, Washington, D.C. 6-9 p.m.

Chanukah on Ice 2018

Annapolis Parade and Menorah Lighting 2018
Dec. 6. Meet at Safeway at 5 p.m.; car parade departs Safeway at 6 p.m. Giant Menorah lighting at City Dock at 6:30 p.m. Fresh donuts, latkes and gelt. Free. Safeway and City Dock, Annapolis.

Chanukah Wonderland 2018
