Maryland Turkey Trots and Holiday Fun Runs

Even with chilly weather approaching, there's no need to stay cooped up inside. Sign up for a turkey trot or holiday fun run (or walk) in Maryland. Bond with your kids, other family and friends while burning off a few calories from Halloween candy and holiday family dinners.

Fall Fairs, Festivals and Carnivals in Maryland

rsz md state fairFall is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities in Maryland, and with so many fall festivals, fairs and carnivals, there are a number of special events to choose from for low-cost family fun.

September brings the Maryland Seafood Festival, Maryland Renaissance Festival, Annapolis ArtsFest, the Baltimore Book Festival and county fairs to name a few.

First Sunday Arts Festivals in Annapolis and the Renaissance Festival continue in October and, of course, the Annapolis Sailboat Show draws big crowds.

Haunted attractionMaryland has some creepy Haunted Halloween Houses. Some are suitable for little kids and others are for preteens and above. We've added a scary ranking of 1-10, with 10 being scariest and 1 being the most kid-friendly. However, you can also call before you head out, just to be sure. Updated for 2017.
