Good deal for adults at Everyone’s a Kid Day at the Maryland Zoo

Great deal for parents at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore: All adults can get in for the children’s price of $13 — $5 off the regular admission price.

Another Everyone’s a Kid Day was added to the summer schedule for Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015. (A previous one was June 24.) It’s the perfect time to visit the new cheetah sisters Tuli and Teep and see how much the warthog piglets have grown since their May 3 birth.

Zoowarthogs“During their first veterinary exam, the piglets weighed between approximately 1.5 pounds each and they have grown to almost 10 pounds apiece,” said Carey Riccardione, mammal collection and conservation manager at the zoo.

While you are at the zoo, check out the rambunctious goat kids and spy the young sitatunga calf with his mother. Head to the new Penguin Coast exhibit and risk getting splashed by the blowhole that goes off periodically shooting water into the air to cool off visitors. The aviaries are also full of birds and the mud wallow is full of rhinos!

Ride a camel, feed a giraffe and talk to the keepers at the many keeper chats throughout the day, including the newest chat “Elephant Bath Time.” Ever wonder how the keepers wash behind the elephants ears? Now you can see it for yourself at 11:30 a.m. every day (weather permitting.)
