Guess the new otter’s name at the Calvert Marine Museum

New Otter CMM WA new otter has arrived at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons and the museum is asking you to guess his name.

The Otter Name Game begins Feb. 15, and the winner will get a behind-the-scenes tour with the otters and animal care staff. Clues will be given weekly on Wednesdays at noon. Look for them on the Calvert Marine Museum website, calvertmarinemuseum.com/375/River-Otter-Live-Cam, and on the museum Facebook page. The first clue is, “Mine is the name of nobility.”

The new otter arrived from Louisiana Feb. 14 and will join Chumley and Chessie-Grace. He will acclimate slowly in the newly renovated holding area. Contest participants can enter as many times as they like, but only one name per entry is allowed. The first person to correctly guess the name will be the winner.

The winner will be announced on March 8 at noon. The behind-the-scenes tour will last an hour and can accommodate up to six people.

Catch a glimpse of the new otter via the River Otter Live Cam on the Calvert Marine Museum’s website. Peake viewing is around feeding time between 9:30-10 a.m., 1-1:30 p.m. and 3:45-4:15 p.m.
