My Mother’s Day Wish for You

May you sleep in as late as you want to.

May you drink your coffee while it is still hot.

May you not have to cook or clean or know where anyone’s uniform is.

May you hold something handmade.

May you hear all of the I love yous.

May there be flowers on your table, even if they are dandelions.

May you not have to be on a field at seven am.

And if you are on a field, may there be caffeine and cocktails.

May your day be free of work, worry, fighting and may you not need to raise your voice once.

May thee be benedict, brunch, bubbles or backrubs or all of the above.

May there be sitting and smiling and taking it all in.

May you remember the you that makes you you.

And the you that makes you theirs.

May the gratitude be overflowing.
Yours. Theirs. Ours.

May you know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

May you know that you are exactly the person that was chosen to be enough for your children.

May you not say you are “just” a mother when you are doing the most important work of all time.

May you be seen.

May you know that you are enough.

May you know that you deserve the world.

Happy mother’s day…
