StrollerStrides2Good for moms, fun for tots

Stroller Strides classes are for moms with children age 6 weeks to 4 to 5 years — or as long as they are willing to sit in the stroller for an hour. Entertaining the babies is incorporated into the workout, Davis explains.

"We sing songs, do little activities, read books and blow bubbles," she says. "If the babies are happy, the moms can work out. It's a balancing act."

Davis' Fit4MOM Annapolis offers Stroller Strides classes at Broadneck Park on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  The first class is free and after that, moms can pay per class ($15) or by the month ($55) or purchase a block of classes (10 for $110). There is a one-time registration fee of $75 for the monthly membership. Davis will also be offering classes at a second location beginning Aug. 20 on the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium Perimeter Trail with classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. A Grand Opening celebration of the new location will begin that day at 9 a.m. and will include a free preview Stroller Strides class, a kid's activity run by My Gym, raffle prizes and refreshments. Fro details visit the Fit4Mom Annapolis website. Davis hopes to expand offerings even more to include not only more Stroller Strides classes but also other fitness classes for moms.
