Fun things to do after opening presents

If you are looking for something fun to do with the family on Christmas after the presents are opened there are a few options out there. From getting crafty with leftover wrapping paper — her are five ideas to keep everyone happy.

Go for a walk or hike – There’s no better way to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather than to get outside and take a walk around your neighborhood or head to a park for a hike. Here are some ideas of hikes to take. Make sure to wear boots — it might be a bit muddy.

Do some baking – Now that all the shopping, decorating and present opening is done, it’s a great time to bake. Here are some yummy sugar cookies, Peanut butter cup brownies or Double Chocolate Chunk Mint Cookies

Make something crafty with the leftover wrapping paper – Here are cool some ideas from Buzzfeed and some wrapping paper crafts for kids.

Check out the lights — Once the sun goes down, go for a drive and check out the lights in your neighborhood and beyond. If you want something more structured — both Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park and Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro are open Christmas night.
