Bring the kids to “Hoot …is in Your Backyard” a fundraiser at Greenstreet Gardens to benefit Friends of Jug Bay Saturday, Feb. 16.
Learn about native culture and dance, see live animals and make a Native American craft all to help the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in Lothian. The fundraiser starts at 10:30 a.m. with Mark Wild Turkey Tayac of the Piscataway Indian Nation. At 11:30 a.m. there will be a show performed by Raptors Eye, featuring local owl species, and at 12:30 p.m. there will be a craft time. There will also be kids make-n-take crafts and lunch available. Cost for the event is $4 and all proceeds will go to the Friends of Jug Bay.
