It’s almost Maryland’s birthday weekend! Don your red, white, black and yellow for more than 40 events highlighting the local history, heritage and culture of the Old Line State. Here are three family-friendly activities to learn more about the place we call home.

Chesapeake Arts Center

March 22 & 23, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. | 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225

Check out the Maryland artists featured in the galleries for special Women’s History Month exhibitions. Treat the kids to a story time on March 22 from 10-10:45 a.m. as they listen to a reading of “ABCs of Maryland: An Alphabet Book of Love, Family and Togetherness” and make their own crab suncatcher. This story time is appropriate for ages 1 to 6 with an adult.
