While your home might be the best place for your photos, especially if you have an infant or small child, it could also be distracting. The phone, the computer, and the television all have the potential to pull attention away from the task at hand: taking great family photos. Consider going outside in the yard or to a favorite place, like a park or a playground, and let the kids loose.
Look for a location with texture. Think brick walls, distressed wooden doors and soft green grass for a backdrop. It will add another creative element to your pictures. If you do choose to stay at home, don’t be afraid to move furniture around to create your perfect photo setting. Drag a couch into a different room, slide a table out, or use the stairs in your entryway.
