As the snow begins to melt, you and your family may be thinking about getting away for a vacation. You don’t have to travel far to get to a resort on the Eastern Shore.
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina, in Cambridge, recently announced the debut of its synthetic ice-skating rink for the winter season. The rink is open throughout the winter.
The rink comes in partnership with Blackwater Adventures, a family-owned and -operated adventure company offering tours and boat, kayak and other watersport rentals with locations at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and next to the Hyatt resort.

Though the rink is at the resort, it’s also open to the public in the local community. It’s located next to the Regatta Pavilion and provides skate rentals; skating is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 10 and younger.
For guests staying at the Hyatt, the resort has discounted room rates through March 31. This seasonal promotional package offers “premier winter experiences” in addition to the skating rink: a glass-enclosed winter garden pool, spa experiences and more, all at promotional rates.
The rink is open on weekends in February. Visit Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay’s website for more information.
