Stevensville is one of the largest towns on Kent Island and has the highest population of any town in Queen Anne’s County. The rural town is a popular tourist destination for families visiting Kent Island, with its own arts and entertainment district and historical landmarks that harken back to its origins as a steamboat terminal.
Explore the Outdoors
While waterfront activities like fishing and boating are popular pastimes in Stevensville, the area has plenty of parks perfect for casual walks or monkeying around on the playground. Mowbray Park is the site of “Noah’s Perfect Playground,” an all-inclusive and ADA-accessible play area that opened in May 2026. For older kids, Terrapin Nature Park is a great place to explore, with a 3.25-mile trail that goes through wildflower fields, tidal pools and the beach.
Year-Round Fun
Historic Stevensville always has something going on, with a slate of unique and interesting events throughout the year. Kent Island Day takes place in May and celebrates the area’s culture and history with living historians, a vendor fair and a community parade. Artoberfest in October features hands-on art activities, and during the Annual Car Show in November, the streets are lined with vintage cars.
