Insect fun at Annmarie Sculpture Garden

Take the kids to learn all about insects at the Insectival at Annmarie Sculpture Gardens and Arts Center in Solomons July 30.

insectiful 3 WThe insect festival will be buzzing with bug themed games, art activities, bug hunts, photo ops and more. A scavenger hunt that will take families through the activities and stations and will end with a prize. Activities will include:

  • Insect Show & Tell – Examine preserved specimens to investigate and observe — from ants to grasshoppers to unusual finds.
  • Museum of Live Curiosities – Discover creepy crawlies.
  • Mosquito Mysteries – Learn all about mosquitoes, including information about mosquito-eating fish.
  • Insect Make-N-Takes– Create everything from awesome headgear to bug motels.
  • Buggy Bingo Parlor—Play a game, win a prize.
  • Pollinator Pretend Play– Buzz and flutter among the flowers, and harvest and sell honey in this imaginative zone.
  • Insect I Spy – Investigate along a shady wooded trail. Cool off in the misting station.
