Kids can learn all about the Underground Railroad and how slaves escaped using the stars as their guide at a program June 10 from 2-4 p.m. at Mount Clare Museum House in Baltimore.
Mount Clare Museum House, Baltimore’s oldest colonial house, was home to Charles Carroll, Barrister and numerous slaves and indentured servants. Children and their families will learn about slavery at Mount Clare and in early America, and learn about the struggle of enslaved individuals to seek their freedom.
Grade school children can read the story “Follow the Drinking Gourd,” develop a secret code and make a constellation scope. Reservations are required. A tour is included.
