We are now firmly entrenched in high school sports.
Adam made the junior varsity water polo team (at least we think he has, he hasn’t been cut yet) and Lilly made JV field hockey.
We spent the majority of Saturday watching water polo, which was a refreshing change since we had never seen the game before. I have to admit it was a bit disconcerting to see my son treading water for his life while the opponent attempted to drown him. He seems to really like it though. Here are a few pictures.
Lilly had her first field hockey game Monday, but I don’t have pictures because the game was in Carroll County and I was in Annapolis. The big plus? A bus took her to the game and brought her back to school. I didn’t have to do any driving. And it was a great game, she said. They won and it was a lot of fun. My quiet girl has been very chatty lately so I know she’s enjoying her new high school life so far.
I had fleeting thoughts of heading to our beach retreat in Rhode Island this weekend for a final summer farewell, but those hopes were dashed when I saw the field hockey practice schedule. No time to get away. High school has begun.
