This year I will aim to:

Complain less. Drink more water. Drink more tea. Drink more greens. Drink more champagne with the people I love. Move my body more. Laugh more. Hug more. Listen more. Dance more. Breathe more. Meditate more. Read more. Say thank you more. Hold more hands. Complete more projects. See more beauty. Do more good. Spend more time with friends. Spend less money on groceries. Let go. Own my worth. Own my flaws. Fall in love with my own evolving self. Manage time and how I invest it better. Make my home a happier, lighter space. Write every damn day. Swear less (kidding). Apologize less. Forgive myself. Say yes to more adventures. Say yes to breaking out of comfort zones. Say no to the things and people that drain me. Show up for the things and people that lift me. Keep an open mind. Work smarter. Check off the annoying tasks early in the day. Less screens. More fresh air. Live with focus and purpose. Be open to receiving the rewards that I’ve worked for in this life. Own my luck but also acknowledge my optimism, grit and drive. Try new recipes. Be present. Hold my children for as long as they let me. Never stop teaching them gratitude. Take care of my skin. Take care of my mind. Listen to my gut. Make peace with the past. Be awake in the present. Let the light in. Try to be on time. Rise earlier. Declutter. Wear red lipstick. Know that it is okay to want and deserve more. Know that it is better late than never to reinvent, love and rock a career. And a life. Stand up for what matters and release myself from the drama of the things that don’t. Keep doing the next right, hard things. Be vulnerable. Be brave. Be deliciously human.

Bring the best version of my own whole being home.

Every single day.

Here’s to the new year, new mantra, new chapter, new chances.

Here’s to you…

Katie’s essay and tangent collection about motherhood, life and imperfection, Happy Broken Crayons is available on Amazon now. Thank you for reading. You are the (queen) bees knees. Happy happy holidays and happy happy new year to you. In setting your hopes for 2018, please think about your word. I can’t wait to hear it. Xoxo
