Maryland Singer, Songwriter Wins Second Grammy

thumbMaryland singer, songwriter and author Barry Louis Polisar received news of his second Grammy Award win this weekend.

Polisar’s sings his 1977 song “All I Want is You” in the opening credits of the movie JUNO and on the Grammy Award winning soundtrack album that came out a few years ago.

Polisar, who lives in Montgomery County, Maryland and visits schools throughout Maryland, contributed his song “Town of Round” to a new CD called “All About Bullies Big and Small.” That CD won another Grammy Award on Sunday night for “Best Children’s Recording.”

With two Grammy awards now under his belt, Polisar said his problem is “how do I celebrate having a song on two different albums that have each won a Grammy Award, when I have spent my entire musical career ignoring the conventional music business and the award system that usually rewards industry stars and players?”
