There are a slew of activities and attractions in the Maryland area with the 18-month to 3-year-old set in mind. Read on to find events and fun things to do with toddlers and preschoolers in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Howard and Prince George’s counties.
The house-bound days of winter are tough enough on adults, but cabin fever with toddlers can be especially trying. Fear not! There are a slew of activities and attractions in the area with the 18-month to 3-year-old set in mind.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY
Programs from the Department of Parks and Recreation channel the kids’ energy with very age-specific programs. They all combine floor exercise, tumbling, and balance beam games from age 24 months to 4 years. There are also programs that are more creative or introduce music and sports geared to tots and toddlers. Most of them run for several weeks, and there is a fee. Kinder Farm Park in Millersville is home to the local 4-H Club and has lots of farm animals in the barn for the kids to see and pet. The visitor center recreates a farm from the 1930s, and there are a few interactive exhibits. Equally important, there is a rest room! “Boundless” playgrounds are designed to be fun for all children, with design features that make them accessible for kids with disabilities. The larger ramps and easier-to-maneuver play areas make them ideal for little ones, too. Lake Waterford Park in Pasadena and Fairland Regional Park in Laurel (Prince George’s County) have them.
