MedStar Health Blood Donor Services is looking for community and corporate groups in the Baltimore area to host community blood drives.
Each year, the demand for life-saving blood in the Baltimore community increases. MedStar Health Blood Donor Services depends on generous, committed community and corporate groups to support their life-saving services. Groups they have recently partnered with include Frederick Douglass High School, Lutherville Fire Fighters and Hillendale Country Club among others.
By hosting a blood drive, you will help return thousands of patients to their families after life-threatening accidents, surgeries and illnesses. As token of their appreciation, MedStar Health will offer the following to all donors: two AMC movie passes, a T-shirt, a coupon for a Chik-Fil-A sandwich, or a coupon for a free pint of ice cream from Baskin-Robbins. On-line scheduling is available online at <http://www.donatebloodmedstar.org/> to make your blood drive run as smoothly as possible.
Groups interested in hosting a blood drive should contact Renita Carter at 301-931-4424 or email@example.com to receive an electronic brochure. If you do not have the facility to host a drive, you can use one of their four hospitals for free. You just need to bring the donors.
If you are not interested in hosting a blood drive, but would still like to help, consider partnering with MedStar’s donor incentives program. For example, 7 West Bistro Grille in Towson, Md., offered discount coupons to their restaurants for those who came and donated blood. These types of incentives are given out at several blood drives including their hospital drives, which are held every two months at each of the four Baltimore hospitals.
MedStar Health is not associated with the Red Cross and their blood products are only distributed within their Baltimore hospitals: Good Samaritan Hospital, Franklin Square Hospital, Union Memorial Hospital and Harbor Hospital.
MedStar Health, is Baltimore/Washington, D.C. region’s largest nonprofit healthcare system and the donations they collect will be used to help people who live and work in Baltimore community. We are asking surrounding businesses and community groups in the Baltimore community to please consider partnering with us between August-September of 2011. This could be a 2-4 hour blood drive.
