Military Bowl Parade and football game fun in Annapolis

Plan on taking the family to the Military Bowl Parade and football game on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, in Annapolis.

Military bowl parade WTemple University will play Wake Forest in this year’s Military Bowl at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium with kickoff at 3:30 p.m.

The day will begin with a parade at 11 a.m. starting at City Dock in downtown Annapolis and concluding at the stadium. The Budweiser Clydesdales are back to lead the way. The parade will feature mascots, bands, team players and more. The route travels up Main Street, around Church Circle to College Avenue, then turns left on Bladen Street and continues along Rowe Boulevard before taking a left on Taylor Avenue to the stadium.

The parade is expected to take an hour and a half for the 60 plus units. Roads along the route will be closed beginning at 10:45 a.m. and will open on a rolling basis. No parking will be allowed on City Dock or along Main Street from 7 a.m. to noon.

An Official Military Bowl Tailgate will take place in the Blue Lot on the west side of the stadium and will open at 9 a.m. Admission to the tailgate is free and will feature music, games, and food and beverages from Annapolis restaurants.

Tickets for the game run $25 to $150. Proceeds will benefit the USO. Check the Military Bowl website for details. For more information on the parade and events, check the Visit Annapolis website.
