When I was younger, pre-kids, there were a couple things I never thought I’d be doing right now, in my 30’s. These are the kinds of things you won’t find in the baby books…
Never thought I’d spend 20 minutes sitting on every lawn mower in Lowes or Home Depot.
Never thought I’d pull over at construction sites just to watch a bulldozer or cement mixer doing its thing (and yeah, geek out a little bit over it).
Never thought I’d dance in my pajamas on Saturday morning to the theme song for Thomas the Tank Engine.
Never thought I’d spend all afternoon washing hundreds of little plastic ball pit balls and scooping them, pitcher by pitcher, into my dryer.
Never thought I would text my husband at work saying, “Hallelujah! We have poop!”….or get the response back of “YAYYYY!”
Never thought I would enjoy silence — pure, blissful, lack of noise.
Never thought I’d be unable to fall asleep until I had looked at my sleeping children’s faces.
Never thought I would stand in line for over an hour in the freezing cold to be one of the first shoppers at a kids’ consignment sale.
Never thought I’d be speechless when my son asked me “why do you love me, Mommy?” Where do I even begin? There aren’t enough words in the world to answer that question!
Never thought my heart could hold so much love for such little boys.
