A new math learning center offering tutoring for kids in grades K-12 opened this year in Gambrills, Maryland.

The new center is one of 15 Mathnasium Learning Centers operated by the Friedman family across three states and will be available for students this fall at 2616 Chapel Lake Drive, Suite B.

Kama Friedman partnered with her husband, Paul Friedman, and their two sons in using this platform to share her passion for helping children excel in Gambrills.

After the pandemic, the National Center for Education Statistics reported the largest score declines in The Nation’s Report Card at grades 4 and 8 since the first assessments in 1990. Not all children will be able to catch up from learning gaps widened by the pandemic on their own.

Mathnasium’s method involves starting with what kids already know and addressing any learning gaps before expanding on their existing math skills with new concepts.

According to the learning center, this method is designed to work for kids across all ages and skill levels by meeting kids where they are and laying the foundation for their next steps, whether they’re struggling in math, doing OK or excelling and ready for a new challenge.

“Math doesn’t have to be scary,” says Kama Friedman, in a news release.
