New program at Baltimore’s Walters Art Museum introduces babies to art

cubsPlay and bond in the Walters Art Museum’s galleries! Waltee’s Cubs is the museum’s newest program for families with infants and pre-toddlers.

This program invites parents, grandparents and caregivers with children birth to 18 months to bond, play and learn in the galleries during this 60 minute class. Each program, limited to ten children, includes a gallery tour designed especially for Waltee’s Cubs, art material exploration and play. Single strollers, tandem strollers and front-carrying baby carriers are permitted; however, walking children must remain in strollers or carriers during the gallery tour. Cooing and crying are welcome!

Museum educators lead the gallery tours with their own children birth to 18 months old. This program is the first at the museum to serve infants and pre-toddlers, along with their parents, grandparents or caregivers. With the launch of Waltee’s Cubs, the museum now has dedicated programming to serve children birth to eight years old through developmentally-appropriate monthly classes. Year-round programming at the museum serves students from birth to 18 years old and their families.
